What are the requirements for admission?

You have to pass an entrance exam, consisting of two subjects: English and Mathematics.

Applicants who have proof of English language proficiency (not lower than B1), may be exempted from the English test. International IELTS certificates are valid for confirmation (at least 5). You can find more information about other accepted certificates in “How to become a student” section.

You also need to provide following documents: passport/ID-card and general, secondary, vocational document on education (or certificate from school/college or lyceum).

Can I apply for different courses at once?

University courses last 3 years, all students get accepted to 60610600 — Software Engineering specialization. IT basics are included in the program from the first year of studies.

From the fourth semester, students with best academic results, get the opportunity to master additionally one of three specializations: Automated Testing, Back-end Development and Front-End Development.

Can I apply to ITPU for a second degree if I already have bachelor's degree in other university?

Yes, of course. You can master new specialty in our university.

When will the entrance exam be held?

The entrance exams will take place in each region of Uzbekistan face-to-face from March 1 to September 8, 2023. As soon as your application is accepted, you will get an SMS-notification to register on entrance exams. You will be able to choose the date, time and place of examination out of the options offered in your personal account.

I am not the citizen of Uzbekistan. Can I apply to ITPU as a foreign student?

Yes, during the 2023/2024 academic year ITPU accepts foreign citizens and stateless persons on a general basis. Documents submitted by foreign citizens and stateless persons for admission to the University must be translated into English, Uzbek or Russian and notarized in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The contract for studying at the University is signed face-to-face and requires the personal presence of the applicant.

In what cases my documents may not be accepted?

1. If some documents are misisng (passport/high school/lyceum diploma)
2. If documents are poorly scanned or photographed

What to do, if at the time of documents submission I have not received high school diploma yet?

If you have not received your high school diploma yet, you can provide certificate from your place of study.

Do I need to undergo a medical examination when submitting documents?

There is no need to undergo a medical examination to enter and study at online-university.

If I submitted an application already, how can I change the selected faculty?

Students are not divided by faculties, however, the best students, according to the first three semesters, will get the opprotunity to master one specialization additionally.

What privileges can be provided for applicants with disabilities when passing the entrance exams?

There are no system of benefits planned in 2023/2024 academic year for applicants with disabilities.

When does the registration start?

For admission to study in the 2023/2024 academic year, you have to submit documents before September 8, 2023. Apply online to study on our site www.my.itpu.uz.

CAREER

Does ITPU sends its students to work abroad?

ITPU's best students will be sent for internships to EPAM's offices around the world.

Can I work during the studies?

As with the traditional form of learning, online bachelor's degree program requires 40-50 hours per week, including online lectures and independent work to study the material. Therefore, full-time job should not interfere with successful studies, so, it is worth weighing and realistically assessing your strengths and capabilities. According to the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan, students can work only in their free time.

Does the university help with employment?

EPAM Systems offers internships with further employment to the best students.

EDUCATION

Is it possible to transfer to ITPU from other university? 

Yes, it is possible. To apply, please contact info@itpu.uz.

 
Following documents should be attached to your letter: 

Transcript of records, including a list of the courses studied, grades, and each course’s workload (credits or hours);
Grading scale at your university (if it’s not mentioned in the transcript);
Syllabi of the IT and Math courses.
Only the applications containing all the documents mentioned above will be considered.

 
Application periods: 

January – to start studies since the second semester (first year);
summer – to start studies since the third semester (second year).
The ITPU Attestation Committee is responsible for making the decisions on transfer.

 
Key factor of such decisions is a degree of difference between the curricula of ITPU and the applicant’s current university. At least a half of the courses should match. 

For transfer in summer, another factor is a presence of successfully completed IT project in the applicant’s transcript. 

However, if your transcript doesn’t fit these criteria, your option is admission to ITPU. The grades from your transcript, in that case, can be transferred after admission by the decision of the Attestation Committee. You will study only the courses which are new for you and pay for them only.

What faculties does ITPU have?

All students will study 60610600 — Software Engineering specialization. From the fourth semester, students with best academic results, get the opportunity to master additionally (within Advanced Track) one of three specializations: Automated Testing, Back-end Development and Front-End Development.

What specialization can student master additionally?

After the first three semesters, the best students get the opportunity to study on Advanced Track. This educational path allows to master additionally one of three specializations:

1. Automated testing. Test automation engineer writes programs that imitate user actions and test a product or part of it. His task is to create and set up the testing, which will detect and eliminate developer's errors.

2. Back-end Development. Back-end Developer creates components and functions that are available to the user of an application or site through the interface. His task is to ensure that the software works correctly so that the server provides the user with what he requests.

3. Front-end Development. Front-end Developer configures the logic and interfaces for both the user and the server side. His task is to translate the finished design layout into code so that everything works correctly.

Selection of the program is based on the student's performance in specific disciplines.

What degree can you get at ITPU?

After completing your studies at our university, you will receive a bachelor’s degree. There are no master’s programs at the moment.

How long will studies last?

Bachelor's degree lasts for 3 years.

What is the studies start date?

The study starts on September 12, 2023.

Is it possible to take an academic leave? To whom an academic leave can be granted?

If necessary, any student can take an academic leave. Since students are enrolled every 6 months, there will be an opportunity to rejoin studies.

At what time can I renew my studies after expulsion from the university?

If the student was expelled, he will be able to rejoin and continue studying in 1 year.

ENGLISH

Am I eligible to apply if my official IELTS test has expired?

We cannot count the expired IELTS certificate. You can pass the language test as part of the entrance examinations. Find out more more about this at “How to become a student” section.

Is it possible to pass the English test based on the IELTS results?

Yes, we accept international language proficiency certficates not lower than B1, such as IELTS not less than 5. You can find out more about other accepted certificates at “How to become a student” section.

FINANCES

Is there any scholarship for students?

There is no scholarship provided for students.

How much is the tuition?

The tuition fee for 2023/2024 academic year is 15 000 000 UZS.

Is it possible to get a grant for bachelor's degree?

The Univeristy does not provide grants for education. The grant may be provided by University's partner-companies. Students who receive a grant sign a contract with a partner-company. Grant selection criteria will be published separately.

Is there any discount for payment given to low-income and people with disabilities (of II or III groups)?

Education allowance on a competition basis in 2023/2024 academic years is planned. Each case is evaluated separately.

Is it possible to pay for studies in installments?

Yes, the tuition fee can be paid each semester 2 times a year. All payment terms will be specified in the contract.

When is the payment deadline?

Payment deadlines will be specified in the contract.

DIPLOMA

Is the ITPU degree recognized abroad? 

According to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 297 of 06.01.2022 (article 4), the diploma of ITPU is recognized as a diploma of higher education in Uzbekistan. The University is licensed to teach software engineering.
Uzbekistan is contracting state of the Apostille Convention, drafted by the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH). So, you can obtain apostille on the ITPU diploma.

 

The apostille issued by Uzbekistan certifies the document without further certification from other contracting states. Here you can find the list of such states: https://www.hcch.net/en/states/hcch-members

 
It should be mentioned that the Convention is not in force between Uzbekistan and the following contracting states: Austria, Belgium, Germany, and Greece. However, the work on increasing international recognition and value of its diploma is continuing.

 
At the same time, we would like to note that the education by ITPU as a part of the EPAM School of Digital Engineering (ESDE) is highly valued by the international IT community due to a longstanding reputation of EPAM and its specific practice-oriented approach to education. It means that the ITPU diploma is in demand by IT employers all over the world, regardless of status of recognition by the governments and universities.

Is 3-years bachelor’s degree accepted for admission to master's programs abroad? 

The period of getting a bachelor’s degree takes from 3 to 6 years, depending on the country. According to Uzbekistan’s Educational Law, study in bachelor’s degree in Uzbekistan takes no less than 3 years.

 
However, not all the universities in the world accept 3-years bachelor’s degree for admission to master's courses. Please check it at the university you are interested in to continue your education.

Does the ITPU diploma require any nostrification in the Republic of Uzbekistan?

This procedure is not required. The diploma is recognized in Uzbekistan.

TECHNICAL ISSUES

What should I do if I have problems with electricity and Internet connection?

In this case, Univeristy's students get the opportunity to study at one of the nearest IT-Park learning centers.
