As part of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to IT Park Fergana, IT Park University Rector Bohodir Ayupov presented the university’s approach to training IT specialists for the digital economy. One of the next stages in the development of IT education in the region will be the opening of an IT Park University branch in Fergana.
Today, Fergana Region is considered one of Uzbekistan’s key regions for the implementation of digital solutions and artificial intelligence. During a meeting on the socio-economic development of the region, the president noted that Fergana should become a model region for the use of modern technologies in the public sector, industry, agriculture and services.
The development of IT education is becoming an important part of this transformation. The planned opening of an IT Park University branch will expand access for young people in Fergana Region to modern educational programs and training in fields that are in demand in the digital economy.
Fergana as a growth point for the IT sector
The region is already demonstrating strong potential in the IT sector. In recent years, the volume of IT services in Fergana Region has grown fourfold, while exports of digital services have exceeded $23 million. In addition, a new IT Park Uzbekistan campus has opened in Fergana, which will become a platform for the development of technology companies, startups, freelancers and young specialists.
IT Park Fergana is expected to support the development of educational initiatives, digitalization projects and areas related to artificial intelligence. Within this system, the IT Park University branch can become an important educational center for training a new generation of professionals.
The role of IT Park University
IT Park University is a university focused on practical IT education and training specialists for real industry needs. The university’s educational model is built around the development of applied skills, project-based learning and the study of technologies that are in demand in the market.
The planned branch in Fergana will allow young people to receive modern IT education closer to home. The training is expected to be connected with key areas of the digital economy: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and software engineering.
For students, this is an opportunity to receive practice-oriented education and develop the skills needed to work in technology companies, startups and digital projects. For the region, it is an opportunity to build a talent base for the further digitalization of public services, business, industry and the service sector.
New opportunities for young people
Fergana Region ranks first in the number of graduates of the “5 Million AI Leaders” program. This demonstrates the strong interest of young people in the region in modern technologies and creates a foundation for the further development of the IT sector.
The opening of an IT Park University branch will become the next step in unlocking this potential. Young people will be able to study in-demand professions, work on practical tasks and build careers in IT while staying closer to their region.
The development of such educational centers will also support the growth of IT exports, the creation of new jobs and the strengthening of Fergana’s position as one of the country’s promising technology regions.
IT Park University continues to develop practice-oriented education and create conditions for training specialists capable of contributing to Uzbekistan’s digital transformation.
